Bradbury: The city of Bradbury is a prestigious and unique bedroom community of some 900 residents with spacious building sites, privacy and country-club living. Nestled in the rugged beauty of the San Gabriel Mountain foothills, Bradbury was the dream of city founder Lewis Leonard Bradbury. The elegant Bradbury estate, currently located at the site of Royal Oaks Manor, can be reached from either Bradbury's Foothill Boulevard or from Oak Avenue in the city of Duarte. Citizens take pride in and actively preserve the local environment. In fact, it was the Bradbury Estates Property Owners Association -- comprised of residents from Bradbury Estates, Woodlyn Lane, Bradbury Hills Road and Royal Oaks -- who united to create the city of Bradbury. The association launched an incorporation drive in 1956. On July 26, 1957, Bradbury became a municipal corporation. The city is served by the Duarte School District.
